Cycle Australia- Sydney to Melbourne

I am in Sydney and plan to cycle to Melbourne, I am 60 retired guy, and welcome anybody to ride with. I am not in a hurry and have no itinerary.
I would like to stay here in Sydney and would like to find someone to share camping expenses. Caravan Parks charge the same for 1 or three people. It is a little to expensive to travel solo

I was considering this as a potential route for myself later in the year. Any information including your route, distances, terrain, visitor attractions and good places to stay would be fantastic!
As I am coming over from the UK and have never been to Australia before it would be such a great help to me!

I am 67 and I intend to cycle from Brisbane to Sydney or Camberra, but next year. I live in Brazil and only in the end of 2010 I´ll go Australia to visit my daughter, and do the ride.
