Forums cleanup: Please help

We need a little help cleaning up the forums. Sometimes people post there and old, obsolete things about ancient tours remains.

If you are reading in the forum and come across an item that is out of date, irrelevant, or generally obsolete, please click the little link below it that says "mark obsolete". We'll delete it and we can have a less-cluttered site.

Fundraiser Bike Trip along the Trans-Am bike route starting mid-May

Touring Notes - Your tours, planned tours, looking for riders

Hi All,

I'm new to Warm Showers, and am excited to use it. I just completed a 600+ mike tour from New orleans to Austin, Tx, and had a fantastic time. We mostly camped and couch surfed, and actually learned about warm showers from a couch surf host.

I'm leaving mid-may for a trip from Yorktown, VA to Astoria OR, mostly following the Trans-America ride. I'm doing it as a fundraiser for the DC Area Books to Prisons Project (www.bookstoprisons.org). I'm wondering if anyone has any experience either with this particular route, or with bike tours as fundraisers (but not through a big organized group!).

Also looking for any warm shower possibilities along the route!
