genuine CS / warmshowers cyclists, traveling in China, Indonesia, or Japan around June / July / August 2010 wanted for photo boo
Dear cyclists,
My name is Malte, I am a professional photojournalist (www.maltejaeger.de) from Berlin, Germany (profilename: w86malte). I'm currently working on a photographic reportage book project about web based hospitality communities. I am intending to show how couchsurfing is able to bring cultures together. My aim in this project is to document how CS creates worldwide, fascinating personal contacts, makes international understanding possible and helps people of different social classes getting closer.
For this project I am traveling with five different active couchsurfers to different regions of the world. I am covering those journeys with emphasis on the social interaction. In the end the project will be published as a book. You can get an impression of how the work looks like in a Magazines Blog (GEO Magazine) featuring my first two couchsurfing journeys:
http://www.geo.de/blog/geo/blog-quot-couchsurfin-the-world-quot/page/6
I just came back from my last couchsurfing journey through India. I already visited Africa, Central Asia and Brazil for the same purpose. The last destination should be China. I am planning to go there around the in the beginning of June.
And now it gets tricky: I still didn't find nobody traveling as a cycle riding couchsurfer / warmshowerer / hospitalityclubber in this time and region!
I would be more than pleased to hear that you think that you might be the right one to travel with! (or like wise to be informed about other interesting couchsurfing cyclists you would like to recommend!)
I am particularly searching for the very special ones of you, doing unusual things, using the system in a special way!
For the project it is important that you are not from Asia so that cultural differences are visible.
You should be a genuine couchsurfer, or using another web based hospitality community (no couchsurfer by chance, mixing CS trips with stays in hostels, camping in a tent (of course it would be ok in emergencies), cruises, hotels, or whatever else)
You should be cycling whenever possible!
Because of my experiences in the last journeys I would prefer to travel with more than one person. So if you are couchsurfing in a group, or even better as a family with kids it would be perfect!
Sorry but you are not the right one if your main intention is just ordinary tourism, following every single step the lonely planet describes.
Have a great day,
Malte Jäger
