Hello, My name is Mike and I am doing the 5 UP of the DALMAC bike ride in Sept 2010. This yr the route is Lansing to Slt St Marie. I am planning to ride back to Lansing by way of Upper Peninsula, Wisconsin and Ludington Ferry.I am looking for fellow riders who enjoy Microbreweries. I am going to take 9 days at the end of ride and ride back to Lansing. I want to make this a Brewery tour. I have found a micro brewery to hit each day. I will be staying either at motels or campgrounds. Total miles will be around 635. Mileage per day will very from 110 to 50 mile per day. We can either plan to stop each night at a Microbrewery or hit them for lunch each day or a combination. Here is a list of the breweries we will be visiting. Tahquamenon Falls Brewery & Pub at Tahquamenon Falls MI, Lake Superior Brewing Co. in Grand Marais MI, Louis Vierling Brewery in Marquette MI, Hereford & Hops in Escanaba MI, Rail Brewing Co. in Marinette WI,Court House Pup in Manitowoc WI, Jamessport Brewing Co. in Ludington MI, Founders in Grand Rapids MI.
I Enjoy Microbreweries but I don't drink excessive. Looking for riders that enjoy good Microbrews.
I consider myself a strong rider and I am 53 and married.My wife enjoys riding but will not be doing Dalmac this year. I have taken many tours. Including Mackinaw to Florida, self supported. I ride a recumbent and will be pulling a Bob trailer. I am not interested in speed, just having fun.Open to other Ideas.
