On 8th August, my wife and I are starting a 10,000 mile tandem ride in aid of the disaster relief charity ShelterBox.

We are launching our ride in Vancouver on the afternoon of Sunday 8th August and we'd love it if any other cyclists wanted to come along and help 'escort' us out of the city.

We are working on setting up a display about ShelterBox in downtown - probably outside the Art Gallery. At about 3pm, we will then set off on the first section of our ride, heading towards Maple Ridge.

ShelterBox is a great charity that helps people who have lost their homes as a result of floods, hurricanes, earthquakes etc. Take a look at their website www.shelterbox.org for more.

We're going to be spending a year cycling across North America, New Zealand, Australia and Europe giving talks about ShelterBox and trying to raise the charity's profile. It would really help get our ride off to a great start if we could get together a bunch of cyclists together to help us on our way!
