misunderstanding of objectives
To. whom it may concern,
I recently created a warm showers account and I am listed as a host. Quite the contrary; I am looking for a host party where I can get a warm shower. I'm currently touring in Texas and don't have the ability to host riders at this time. My name is Francis Q. Schaefer and email is fsts61@gmail.com. How do I project myself as looking for a warm shower as opposed to providing one? Please help.
Thankyou
Re: misunderstanding of objectives
Hi Francis,
There are two things that you can do when you are on tour looking for hospitality (and obviously not able to render it yourself).
First you can let other members know that you are not available to host them by selecting the "Not Currently Available" option that is listed on your profile page. This effectively removes you from our list so that when others are looking for hospitality in San Diego your name does not appear. Then, when you tour is over and you are in a position to host other members, you can simply un-check this option (now you will appear on searches other members make).
You do not need to make this change in your profile as I took the liberty of doing it for you.
To get hospitality from other warmshowers members let me refer you to either a video we have on the subject or the FAQ.
You will find the video located on this webpage (just click on the highlighted link to go there): http://www.warmshowers.org/content/video-how-find-hosts-warmshowers.org
In the FAQ please look for the question/answer "How do you find and request hospitality?" You will be transferred to the FAQ by clicking here: http://www.warmshowers.org/faq
If you need any help feel free to send me an email.
Regards,
Kevin
