UGRR October / November 08

Touring Notes - Your tours, planned tours, looking for riders

I am planning on doing at least one [1]week of the UGRR tour this October / November 08. Take a look at the UGRR route map here. http://www.adventurecycling.org/routes/undergroundrailroad.cfm The first section is from Mobile, AL to Fulton, MS (401.5 mi.) about 57 mile avg. per each of the 7 days Sunday, Oct 26th to Saturday Nov 1st. [Travel days would be 1 day before and after] This date could be moved up or back 1 week.

I liked cycling, have usually pulled a BOB trailer and camped out, but not this trip. Thus the reason for staying at cheap hotel. I am hoping to only spend $25 per night for lodging. Who knows, I may find free places to stay also along the way. It's always great to swap cycling stories with other guys.

About me: age 51, 6'2", 170#, I have lived in Geneva, IL most of my life. I love to cycle, especially with groups. I started cycling in 2005, and do a few long rides each year. In August '08 I finished a 487m ride from Minn, MN to Chgo [western burbs].
