It worked fine until I clicked 'submit'. Then it didn't load. I clicked it again and it told me my username was already in us. It turns out I had actually successfully registered w/ the first click, but I did not receive an acknowledgement.

May be helpful in your video to let prospective members know about the questions like nearest hotel, campground and bike shop. While I was looking these up my other information was lost and I had to start over.

The login process went quite smoothly. There is one thing I would suggest however. For items possibly offered (I did like the wording you used there), there was an option for bed. We would not be able to offer a bed, though we certainly could offer couch space/floor space, etc.

As a constant web user I see the questions you are asking are perfectly fine although the form does seem quiet long. I would suggest maybe completing a more detailed part about your location and status at a later stage. I made a few mistakes in completing the form and the validation works perfectly also.

No problem whatsoever with registration. Looking forward to host and being hosted. ;)

just joined, looking forward to the bike ride from key west to Vancouver, hope to meet as many new faces smiling faces as i can on the road. who knows maybe some of them will be in my attempt at a novel. i will be recording as much as possible and posting to you-tube, for the folks back home, once again a great site, great idea, this is the kind of thing that make the world a better place

I really appreciate the straight-forward approach of the warm showers sign up. It's clean, easy, streamlined, and simple to move through and complete. And I like that very little is mandatory information. Thank you.

However, I would suggest maybe placing a few suggestions of what to say when writing about myself. I found it kind of difficult to know what to say, or to even know what information others might find useful. For example, you might suggest that users write a simple (or detailed) description of themselves, including items like occupation, age, education, interests, marriage status, religion, bicycling interests, etc. A description of what kind of accommodations a host is offering, like a private room versus floor space in a living room, or tent space on a small private lawn versus tent space in the 40 acre field behind my barn, etc. What kind of guests am I interested in hosting: male, female, couples, smokers, drinkers, partiers, age group, etc. and any expectations of visitors such as what time we go to bed, what time we wake up, what time you will need to be out of the house, full or limited access to the house, bathroom, shower, kitchen, fridge, etc. And anything I as a host might have to offer, or anything in particular a guest should know, such as internet access, proximity to services and entertainment, fire pit or bbq, clean towels and/or linens, I have pets or children, I am a smoker, I can only host on weekends, I can/cannot entertain and show my guests around my town, etc. I like the idea all of this information remaining completely voluntary, but at the same time a list of suggested topics would be helpful. Thank you again for all that you do. Your site is wonderful!

Being also a couchsurfer, and approving of its protocol, I want to get to know any home visitor before I tell them where I live... So replaced street address and phone number with "Please email first". Process went on through okay, so I would recommend it... but if you see this comment, too late! Perhaps Admin might add a note on the form to say this is possible.

It would have been helpful to see a sample of what other people had written about themselves. I didn't know if I was writing too much or too little. Also would be helpful to know where and how many other warm showers locations are in my city. Am I the first? Am I one of 500? You obviously know all these answers, but as a newcomer I haven't a clue.

I had a problem signing up but realized I was on warmshowers.com. Not sure why, when I checked country United States it just sat there and wouldn't let me continue. I then went to warmshowers.org and was successful.

I didn't watch the video but it was easy. I don't use this site as much as my couchsurfing one, but still I like it. Simple. and easy.

I had no difficulty in signing up. My confirmation email arrived immediately! The information requested is the sort that I expected. Nothing unnecessary. Looking forward to using the site and making new friends!

My experience was great with signing up! I accidently went to a new page after I filled in the information so I had to start over, but that was my fault! :)

The number of people whom I am able to host is at least 1, which is contradictory to the possibility that I can choose not to host people at the moment.

Signing up with warmshowers.org was more than a little bit frustrating. I didn't get a validation email right away, or the second time I requested it, or the third or the fourth or the fifth. I gave up until I got an email threatening me with deletion. I responded in a fairly strong manner and did eventually get added. I suppose the squeaky wheel gets the grease, but there is not reason to make the process so difficult!

Thank you, Randy, for your kind assistance and offer to validate manually. I must have overlooked the first email but this one I caught and clicked. We are all IN now. We look forward to hosting in the future. Our business is Bed & Breakfast at the Twin Mansions and we have plenty of room for tents plus can offer complimentary full bath with shower AND laundry privileges. Always if we have guest room available we'll provide!

I am telling the other groups I am part of, that this grassroots service exists. One group I am part of, a recumbent tricycle group, is spread out, as you might imagine.
I am proposing this as a means that we can travel to different parts of the country to visit.

Hi! The signup was great, but one little thing.....I got booted back to the page in order to add a http:// tag to my website, even though I had a www tag.....really minor detail.

i watched the youtube vids first...although i don't think i would have had any trouble had i not done so.

Thank you very much. The sign up was not too complicated for my wife and myself, especially as we are not expert computer users.

The signup process was just fine, but it contains a broken link. The very first instruction in the signup is: "right now, before submitting this form, please add wsl@warmshowers.org to your Spam whitelist. Instructions on how to do it on many email providers are here." The "here" link is "http://www.warmshowers.org/spam_filters" but it is broken
