Touring Experiences with Hosts

I was travelling the Great Rivers South route last Friday, in Karnak, IL. I was riding the 250 miles to my 25th high school reunion. I had stopped at a lemonade stand. Jonathan Voelz, the local Warm Showers guy from nearby Vienna happened to ride up. After a short discussion involving lemonade and zucchini bread, Jonathan offered to accompany me to my final destination, Cape Girardeau, MO, and catch a ride back with his daughter who lives there. After clearing things with his (apparently wonderful) wife, Sharon, off we went for the last 45 miles of my journey. Jonathan provided great company, local knowledge, and photographic evidence of the remainder of my journey. He then e-mailed all photos to me. I've now joined the warm showers list.
