Spam filter and warm showers
Submitted by hoags on Wed, 2007-11-28 12:11.
We have learned that including "Warm Showers" in the subject line of an email might not be an efficient way to contact a potential host!
We had one guest do that and we almost missed their email - it went into the junk mail box. I guess "warm showers" sounded a little pornographic!
Doesn't seem to be the words "Warm Showers"
Stephanie and I did some testing with her email, and she was able to receive emails with "warm showers" in the subject with no problem. We did not figure out why this particular email went in the bucket.
However, remember that *most* spam checkers have a big bias against people you've never corresponded with before, and usually a potential guest is somebody you've never corresponded with before! So don't forget to check that spam filter.
And guests: Remember that your potential host may not get you email in this day of over-aggressive spam filters. You should probably do them the courtesy of making a phone call too.
