Anyone know a cool place on the North Carolina Coast?

Touring Notes - Your tours, planned tours, looking for riders

I have a couple of weeks to kill, and thought I'd take a ride somewhere. I'm in Ashville, North Carolina staying with a distant friend-of-the-family, and really don't want to remain here any longer than I have to. Thus, I am going to head to the coast...anyone have any advice on cool stretches of beach or coast that are secluded enough to camp at in a tent (not swarming with tourists)?

After two weeks are up, I'll just grab a bus back to Ashville, so I'm not worrying about a return trip.
