Heading over to Finland for a short jaunt in August - I have a few days free and would love to spend them exploring by bike! Anyone have any thoughts or experiences to share about the King's Road from Turku-Helsinki? Or other similar recommendations?
Thanks!

Turku-Helsinki
Hey Olivia!
I will also be cycling this route beginning of August! I've been told to check out the Turku Archipelago, apparently its exquisite.
Do you know specifics about route or wild camping in that area?
Cheers,
Kara
Yes, Åaland Islands west of Turku are also very beautiful. There are free ( for cyclists and walkers ) inter island ferries connecting the small islands. You can get to the islands on the big boat from Turku to Stockholm ( abot 15 euros on day boat I think ) or you can also go on a free boat from little place called Galtby ( about 75km south west of Turku ) to the island of Kökar There is a nice little campsite very close to ferry dock on Kökar. From there you can continue island hopping for free until you get to the main island arriving about 30km from the main town of Mariehamm. Finnish Summer holidays end mid August but think the campsites will be open till Sept or so. Åaland islands have quite a few affordable campsites ( compared to Finnish mainland ) and it is the only place in Finland where you do NOT have the right to camp wild. Although we have done it.
