Wild camping is not legal in England, and difficult to arrange - every piece of land is private, and usually surrounded by hedge.
But there is a trick that helps you to solve the problem. There are hundreds of signposted “public walking path” , and many signposted NCN bicycle paths. Looking for a spot to crash for a night you enter any PWP or NCN and pitch your tent there. Its public status explains your presence there, and your making a camp explains by your sudden health problem that makes your going further impossible, or simply by lack of other alternatives.

Did you wild camp in the UK and were there any problems ? did you ask on private land ?
Yes, I did. Many times.
