I must confess i'm quiet disappointed with the new site, and with the fact that the application will not be supported any longer.
Very difficult to find host, to contact them, to answer a request, .....
The couchsurfing application should be taken as an example ...

you voice some strong criticism. I just tested everything and I must say: Everything works fine and easy as before. And the iOS App also works fine on my iPad.
Is it possible that your settings don´t allow for a good experience?

well I mean, maybe the technical part of the site is ok (no bug), but the lack of functionnalities is realy a problem : impossible to filter host regarding all criteria (the most useful would be the active time), difficult to find hosts.
Difficult with a laptop, almost impossible with a phone ...
Hello. How do I find the map which shows the hosts in each country?
What settings? Can it not be that you can just use the website to search for hosts like you could before without having to be a tech wizz? I am getting very frustrated I am not able to look for host for my trip this year. This is even more anoying as I hve now donated to the site as it was so useful last year. I feel that i am not going to be able to plan a trip this year using warmshower hosts.
The new site is quite bad. I don't even see where are my requests and messages. For requests, I can only decline and not post a message with that?
We don't need a rich text editor, that's too much for no value.
And the popup that says "your message has been sent", yeah I'm aware and you're just blocking me and forcing me to click somewhere.

I hate just responding with "denied" when a rider requests a stay. Really wish that I could reply and give advice to where else to stay. Don't like it at all, as a well established host.
@ Rita Hester: that's what I wrote by email to Jack Turner, WS Helpdesk. His reply on 26 January 2018: "we are going to add messaging on denial". Too bad they didn't do that earlier!
He added: "you can always send a normal message at the moment".
I find now not being able to reply to email messages everything is now too hard for me to continue hosting. I will host my last warmshowers this weekend and then that is it. I even could reply to a message with the link that was sent and also some requested did not show up. So it must feel like to some people wanted me to host that I am not even replying to them.
I'm sorry to hear that. It was mentioned above that a member was assured in a private message that this is being worked on. As to why WS won't respond to this publicly on it's own forum when there have been multiple complaints from members, that is beyond me.
Advice please I am finding it hard to find the search part of the site to search for hosts in a country. I have managed to do in in a very complecated way. Can you not see hosts on a county map any more?? I do hope so as this really helps with planning a route.
I’m having the same issue. I find the new web site a real pain iin the butt. I feel like I’m going around and around in circles. What happened to the map?
What device are you using? And are you using the website itself or a device specific app?
All I have is my IPhone. I’m using the web site. The app doesn’t work much anymore. Just seems like I go in circles a lot. What happened to the map? It did open for me but none of the hosts pins or whatever showed up.
I just tried on android and it works OK (also works on desktop) - as there is another person reporting the same issue something must be going on. I don't have an iphone to test on but hopefully someone from WS can help you soon. Is there an option to use desktop mode from your browser? Things won't be rendered very well but it may work as a stop gap solution.
PS - Your map location should refer to where you host from (or where you will host from in the future) not your current location on the road.

This is the third time I’m writing back. My messages just keep disappearing. I was trying to include some screen shots from my searches. That feature rifht above this content box doesn’t aeem to work either. Sorry, but the whole web site is klunky and awkward to use.

That is the page with the map and the host search, are you saying this isn't visible to you?
Its very hard to diagnose the problem you're having because its difficult to decipher which posts you are responding to in the thread and you are not giving enough information. As your concerns are unrelated to the OP's topic I would start a new thread ( click here: https://www.warmshowers.org/node/add/forum/32 ), describe your problem accurately and the Device/Operating System (+version)/Browser (+version) you are using and include what steps you have taken (have you tried on another browser etc.).

I totally agree with the web site that doesn't really work properly. Typing emails is difficult and I always opt to switch to plain text editor as it is more simple and the main thing, when you are out there with limited battery in your phone, rain, cold and Wifi that doesn't work well, is to get in touch with your host.
The app could be improved in a way that the pins could be also personalised. Sometimes I need to remember the hosts I sent emails to and it would be so nice to mark them on the map. I also suggest that hosts who are not available for hosting should be coloured in grey. Maybe another colour for those who cannot host but they are available for info/help.
I hope that the web site can be technically improved because it's a great idea.
