Just wondering if anyone could share their thoughts about the best side to take along the Danube, particularly in the Romania/Bulgaria section, but any other pertinent feedback most welcomed!

Veliko Gradiste ,Golubac , Orsova , Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Negotin, Bregovo, Vidin , Lom, Oriahovo, Nikopol ,Svishtov ,Ruse ,Silistra ,cross in Romania, Ostrov etc !
Is this a suggested route?
I've heard the Romanian side is fairly flat and the Bulgarian side much hillier - is that correct?
Why did you do it for Bulgaria?
What are the advantages and disadvantages?
I'll start the route on June 1.
Last year we dedided to take the Serbian/Bulgarian side of the Danube river.Golubac, Kladovo, Negotin, Vidin, Lom, Oriahovo, Svishtov, Ivanovo, Russe, crossing to Romania in Silistra, going north to Tulcea and the Danube delta.
The Bulgarian side is hilly, sometimes steep but absolutely stunning. Sometimes long stretches among huge fields, then again up and down the hills. Visit the rock-hewn monastery in Ivanovo. The Romanian side is said to be flat and boring, nothing to see.
