Hola !
Having a 2 years trip which started with a transat', and now heading from Mexico toward the south, I decided to cross central America by bike.
I spent one week in San Cristobal de las Casas to find a bike, now working on the itinerary with the idea of going through Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama.
I'm a girl traveling on my own, and it will be my first trip by bike.
If you've done it before, any advice, information are welcome !
Also any rider around who would like to share a part of the ride is welcome.
I plan to leave latest the 25/26th of May from San Cristobal de las Casas.
Thanks !
++ Astrid.
There`s a good blog (and recent) from a friend ! In Portuguese !

Good travel
Wow ! Thanks a lot.
From what I understood (through google translate), it was very interesting, can't wait !
Hi Astrid,
I cycled solo through part of Central America at the end of last year - a wonderful experience! I found some of the journals over at http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/?doctype=journal to provide good detail on specific routes, food, accomodation, etc. if you search for a specific location - it's good to be prepared with information, but I found the locals along the way to be friendly and helpful on the whole, and the chicken-buses were a good fall-back option in the event of bike problems or fatigue..
Enjoy it!
Brendan.
