I'm planning a cycle tour leaving Toronto around the beginning of July and arriving in Vancouver in around beginning to mid September (flexible on dates by 2 weeks here or there). I'll be mostly camping, couch surfing and hopefully visiting some warmshowers hosts. So I'm looking for any advice and any other riders who wish to join me for part or all of the journey.
Currently planning to use a road bike and stick to the highways however I'm open to suggestions on routes and bikes.

I cycled Toronto to Vancouvwer Island last summer.
not many people do it East to West but I highly recommend it! I had the time of my life, just fantastic.

hi kenny, I biked Vancouver to Winnipeg (2300kms)in June of 2009 for charity and had the time of my life, scenery is fantastic, mountains are a sight to see. I ride a recumbent and it took me 23 days with a rest day every 5-6 days. I stuck to Transcanada highway and really had no problems with traffic or road conditions. There are campsites and hotels all along the way. The prairies are quite boring but it seems to go by fast. You do have to be alert and ride safe thru the mountains as they twist and turn frequently. I cannot ride with you as i just got back from riding San Fransisco to San Diego and I will be riding the province of Manitoba(1550kms)in September for charity. You are welcome to stay with me and my family here is winnipeg if you like. Best of luck.
