Riders? for Pacific Coast Tour: Aberdeen, WA to San Diego California... Start April 26th End May 21st-ish

I'm Looking for fellow riders for the pacific highway 101 ride. I am planning on leaving from Aberdeen Washington on April 26th. I'm also leaving from iowa (a few days before) in a rental car if anyone from the beautiful state is interested. I plan on riding fairly hard to be back home between May 23rd-25th. I will be riding around 80+ miles a day. With one day of rest/ week. San Diego is my destination. I 'm planning on camping more than staying under a roof. Side trips will depend on how much ground I actually cover a day. I will eat from grocery stores more than restaurants. It would also be cool if you only wanted to ride a day or two. I would love the companionship if anyone is up for the challenge. If you are serious email me at [email protected]

Thanks!

camping info on the 101 route

I'm not sure about Washington; but Oregon and California state parks have hiker/biker campsites. They are in a group area (usally next to the restrooms and shower house) and run between 5 and 10 dollars a night per person. A normal campsite is close to 50 dollars at some state oarks now; so it's a great bargan. Hope this helps. Safe riding

camping info on 101 route

Eric,
I live about 30-35 cycling miles north of San Francisco depending on routes taken.
In San Rafael there is a camping for cyclists at $5-10 per night called China Camp - other campgrounds in the area charge cyclist $45-50 per night which is ridiculous.

I am familiar with the paleo diet - eat similar to eat but not totally by it. I can't ride with you to San Diego - but it is one of my possible tour options this year - but not in May, and I couldn't keep an 80 miles per day pace everyday because I ride a heavy mountain bike and average 10-11 mph hour with a loaded bike.

Keep in touch and let me know your route through Marin County.

Hope all goes well with your touring!

Good luck on your ride, I

Good luck on your ride, I live in Moss Landing about 15 miles south of Santa Cruz right on Pacific Coast Bike Route. Have plenty of room for overnight guests and love meeting new riders, if you need a free place to stay.
