Switzerland - new, superb route planer available online

If you need maps for tours in Switzerland, try this website:
http://map.veloland.ch/?lang=en

It has bike, mountainbike, inline skating (very usefull for road bikers too! since 100% of the route are paved), hiking, kanoe/kayak and public transport on there, all on very accurate topgraphic maps (gives you an idea of climbs).

"100% of the route are NOT paved"

I totally disagree with this sentence "100% of the route are paved".
Fortunately this is not true.

Both National, Regional and Local routes are a very nice mix of every kind of possible ways you can imagine : roads, tracks, paths, (even militar airstrips !!!) avoiding as much as possible motor traffic.

If you go with a road bike, you will need sometimes to get a variant by mainroads.
An "all terrain" bike will assure you better landscapes and incredible places in this beautiful country.

Note :

I strongly advise paper guides (with maps and touristic guide) of national routes that you can buy here: http://www.veloland.ch/en/routen_list.cfm?tour=route&art=national

Even if bike routes in Switzerland are incredibly well indicated with signs in every crossroad (so well that in 95% of the cases you will not even need to look at the map when riding).

100% of the INLINE SKATING routes are paved!!!

Reading and processing is difficult it seems!

I said: inline skating routes ARE paved!!!

not ALL routes and definitely not ALL cycling ones

Brilliant

Thanks for posting this, we want to include Switzerland on our way north from Provonce to Munich, and I was really worried about the hills here, but everything is mapped out brilliantly, and includes elevation too.

Cheers, Paul.
