Using home exchange for cycle touring

I have recently discovered home exchange websites through an acquaintance and I have been wondering if anyone has used it for cycle touring. Home exchanging usually works by letting others stay in your house for free and earn points to then allow you to stay in other houses while you travel. I thought this could be used for cycle touring, however it seems to be designed for longer stays (more than 1 night) so I wondered if it would be possible to use it for just 1 night every time. I also wonder if most house owners would reply in a few days notice and if most do reply or not (as happens in Warmshowers).

Hello Macia & Barry
We do home exchanges to find a base to explore a region or to stay about a week as we link up parts of a longer tour. But it is not easy, We like to cycle in the northern hemisphere's spring/summer when it's autumn/winter where we live, Australia. Most European home exchangers want to exchange in their summer. Couch surfing had a home exchange group, but with mostly Euro exchanges, which might suit you.
Maybe this thread can test interest in home exchanges. We have no touring plans just yet, but are open to offers.
Cheers Jeff
