What is the ultimate route through Spain? I'm going to Spain at september first riding south to Marocco. I need ideas from anyone with an opinion on wich route would be most interesting. Wich cities, places and national parks is a must to experience? Im going on a Surly Long Haul Trucker and time is not an factor. I want to ride on at least on of the "via verdes" I also have some thoughts about visiting some cities like Barcelona, Valencia and Ronda but nothing is decided. What is your ideas on the most intresting route?

Ultimate route through Spain?
I biked from Amsterdam to Barcelona, so I don't know much of Spain. However I did do a side trip through the Basque Country from Bilbao to Pamplona. I highly recommend the region. It was probably the nicest cycling, along with some of France, I did all summer. My route was From Bilbao along light-traffic roads along the coast to San Sebastián, then inland to Pamplona. There are hills, but worth the effort. Good food, people and beautiful landscape.
