Hello,
As the heatwave is kicking in Greece we are thinking of cutting the journey to Turkey taking few trains. Is there any problem to get on a train with bikes (and panniers!) here in Greece?

Bikes on trains in Greece
Hi I don't think its a problem I asked this question a few times to people in Athens but I didn't end up getting the train so I can't say for sure! I was allowed on the Athens metro with my fully loaded bike no problems. They're pretty chilled out herd re bikes on transport. I was allowed to take my bike on a bus in Corfu but it was driver's discretion.
Good luck and good call! Its 43 in Athens tomorrow its boiling!!! Apparently cooling to the thirties next week x
Hi Cathy, thanks for advice. We managed to get a train from a small station (which came from Athens) to Drama which was meant to go to Alexandropolis but there was major engineering work so bus replacement from Drama. It helped cut 100km off from a steamy day. We are heading along coast now towards Alexand... but today was hell cycling in 40 degrees. We are staying put tomorrow and waiting for a cooler Monday to progress. Heading to Istanbul hopefully there around mid July and getting either a train or bus to Georgia. The ferry we were taking was from Burgas in Bulgaria to Batumi in Georgia. The boat is out of action for foot passengers until August. You are talking about a ferry from Istanbul! Not aware of that one. Good luck and maybe see you at some point .
Good luck! Its 40 again here for the next few days :)
