Europe from April 2018
Hello,
Im planning my first longterm tour in Europe from the beginning of April 2018 starting from Hungary Budapest. I'd like to see Slovenia, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, at least this is the ideal itinerary for me, but I'm ready to keep it flexible. I'm planning a low budget tour: wild camp, use warm showers, couchsurfing or campsites sometimes stay in hostels.

In the meantime I would like to see as much as possible, sometimes stay at one place for some days, I'm not in a rush. I don't really know where and when to end the trip, it depends on the money I'll spend on my way.

I think I'll cycle cca 50-90 km per day, as this will be my first longterm trip. If you already have some experence in a tour like this it's great, as I could learn a lot from you, but if this will be the first big trip for you too, no problem, we'll figure out things together. :) I speak French and English. And Hungarian... :)

You are welcome to join me for the entire trip or for a certain part.

Hi Nikolett,

Hi Nikolett,

I will start my trip to Europe from Jordan at the begining of March.  Hungary and Slovenia are the countries I will visit on the way to my final destination Finland.  Will most probably arrive Hungary in mid to end of April.  Contact me after you have decided the departure date then we will see whether or not to cycle together the journey from Hungary to Slovenia.

Cheers,

Lawrence

European Perimeter Tour March - Oct 2018

Hi Nikolett,

How about ending your tour in Hungary, but starting from Spain ?

See my posting https://www.warmshowers.org/node/236407  ,  I'm planning to cycle along the Atlantic Coast from Spain/Portugal. I'll stop in the first week of April in Lisbon to meet friends and family coming from the US and Europe, then continue the tour.

If the progress is fast I'll consider going through Northern Europe, otherwise after the Netherlands I would cut through to Slovakia and then South through Hungary toward Greece, where it will be warm enough in case the tour goes a little longer :-)

Cheers !

Hi Derek,

Hi Derek,

I read your post and your plan seems really nice. In the first round I prefer to start my tour in Hungary, but I'll keep your plan in mind also, you can never know...

Cheers!

Europe from April 2018

Hi Nikolett,

I'm planning to start from Northern Germany to a tour along the Atlantic coast down to Gibraltar, way back more or less along the Mediterranean coast to France (Ardèche, Rhône and Saône valleys, Alsace) and Germany. https://keeponmoving.plic.de/2017/11/01/planned-iberia-cycle-tour-2018/

I'm flexible regarding the final route as well as regarding the accommodation (wild camping, campsites, warmshowers, hostels ...). I'm still gathering informations on recommended routes but also have still a list of fellow hosts along the route. Spoken languages: French, German, English and some Spanish)

My cycle touring experience so far: A first solo tour around the Baltic Sea in 2017 (7,200km in 97 days). https://keeponmoving.plic.de/?post_series=baltic-sea-cycle-tour-2017

Of course, you are coming from another direction, but I'm always happy to share even small parts of the route with other friendly cyclists :)
