I would like to ask for some information about routes in Italy.
My plan is first of all yo cycle the west of Sardinia beginning at the end of February.
The other idea after that and after meeting a frind was to cycle in Toscana at the end of March but we are not shure and we would like to have some advice aboute routes in Toscana or any advice.
Thanks.

Hello,

As it's the middle of March you may be well on your way in Italy.  I took a route called Via Francigena.    There is an app that you can use to give detailed information about the route segments.   look on my website to see some pictures from when I did it.  I cycled from Rome to Aosta and over the Dolamites to Italy.  https://cwd-photography.ueniweb.com/via-francigena-italy

Happy Trails

Hi
I have been cycling several times through Italy. It's wonderful, as there are a lot of small streets with few traffic, awsome landscaps and very beautiful villages with good restaurants.
This time of the year (March) I recommend to cycle more in the south, as temperatures are more pleasant. And later (f.e. June) it will be too hot.
What I can recommend is the "heel" tour (Bari/Brindisi - Santa Maria di Leuca - Taranto; more or less flat) and the Cilento-Calabria-Sicilia Tour (f.ex. Salerno to Palermo incl. Mount Ätna; more hills; not to be missed is Cilento along the coast ). Both tours can follow over long stretches the coast, which is not possibl in summer due to the heat and the traffic.

BUT www.Alpe-Adria-Trail.com is difficult for HIKING only, but NOT good for Riding a bike. I did it some years ago myself.
